Meet The Founder

Sunny Altman brings over three decades of experience in education and the arts. She began her career as a swim instructor and After School Program Director for the YMCA, eventually creating an art curriculum that implemented the 40 Developmental Assets, which she taught across several schools in Orange and Los Angeles Counties.

Sunny's teaching career includes tenure at the prestigious Fairmont Private School. She also served as the Art Reflections Chair Coordinator and PTA Board Historian at her children's elementary school. As the school's Art Coordinator, she developed a comprehensive art program for kindergarten through 6th grade. Her responsibilities included recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers, sourcing supplies on a limited budget, and managing a tight schedule to teach 60-90 students simultaneously through unique, hands-on projects.

Sunny Altman is a distinguished contemporary American mixed media artist actively engaged in prominent art exhibitions, including juried and group exhibitions on both local and international stages. Her participation in juried art competitions has earned her awards for excellence in visual arts.

Sunny Altman's passion for art began at a young age. Her formal art education commenced in high school and continued through college, where she had the opportunity to study in Florence, Italy. She has continually enriched her skills by learning from successful and talented artists around the world.

This dedication to her craft, combined with her extensive experience in education, has allowed Sunny to develop a robust and dynamic art program that is both fun and educational. Her program is designed to foster creativity, mindfulness, growth mindset, and confidence in students, making it a valuable addition to any educational setting.
